Where did it all start

It all started 2 years ago with a little round speaker, that i wanted to be able to listen to Virgin radio in the kitchen in the morning when i was ironing and having breakfast,  So i picked up a Google Home Mini from Curry's. and took it home and plugged it in, and as if by magic, when i said 'OK Google...Play Virgin Radio' it instantly started playing Virgin Radio. This was around the time that I Purchased a Nest Thermostat, as part of my quest to reduce my heating bills,  which i will be reviewing in a later post. it then occurred to me that, rather than going up and adjusting the temp, I could just say 'OK Google....set the temp to 21. and as soon as I saw the dial move up to 21, I was totally hooked, and then instantly started to search the web for what else would work with this magic little speaker.

After running a successful blog for the last 5 years on Vaping, I wanted to branch out into my other passion, Creating my ultimate smart home, and bring you along for the journey, looking at the latest Smart Home Gadgets, and system, and getting to know how they all work together. Over the past 2 years I have been slowly putting together my Smart Home tech, learning as we go along, So over the coming weeks we will be looking at my current set up and reviewing the gadgets that make up my humble beginnings of my smart home. Plus hopefully be reviewing new products as the come along, and seeing how it all develops, I dont have thousand and thousands of pound to build my smart home, and like most people out there, we will be doing it on a small budget, and seeing how much bang we can truly get for our buck.
